The initial 15 shareholders are owners of 1965-79 VRA legal nostalgia funny cars that competed in Goodguys VRA or Match Race drag racing events in 2005 and 2006.

The NFCA works with promoters and racing associations to present funny car drag racing shows throughout the western United States.

Membership in the NFCA is limited to the owners of VRA legal funny cars that have been licensed and tested and are ready for competition. Car owners may apply for membership by contacting one of the three managers of the NFCA and submitting an application and membership fee. New shareholders of the LLC must be approved by the managers and a majority of the current 23 shareholders.

The NFCA acts as a booking agent for the shareholders and provides a voice for car owners in dealings with regulatory or rule making sanctioning bodies. One of the primary goals of the NFCA is to continually work to improve the safety of nostalgia funny car racing.

The NFCA marketing director recruits marketing partners and deals with associate and contingency sponsors.

In the interest of maintaining the spirit of nitro funny car racing, the entire membership acts as a committee to review funny car body concepts and designs of prospective members. Anyone contemplating applying for membership or current members should contact one of the managers at the earliest point of construction to discuss their body concepts and designs of funny cars proposed or under construction.
